4 days ago, my brother met with a devastating accident. The impact was severe, he suffered multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung. He was rushed to the ICU at Civil Hospital, Karachi, where he has been on a ventilator fighting for every single breath.
While the doctors at Civil Hospital have stabilized him, his condition remains critical and highly complex. To give him the absolute best chance at survival and a full recovery, we desperately need to shift him to Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), which has the advanced specialized thoracic and ICU care he requires right now.
However, moving a patient on a ventilator to a private facility like Aga Khan requires immense financial backing. The cost of an advanced cardiac/ventilator ambulance, ICU daily charges, specialized lung treatments, and potential surgeries at AKUH are completely beyond our family's reach. We have exhausted our savings over the last 48 hours, and we simply lack the funds to secure his transfer and ongoing treatment.
