I'm a graduate with a 3.83/4.00 CGPA in Education, and I'm working toward pursuing a master's degree in Malaysia through a fully funded scholarship.
Why Malaysia? Because I've found scholarship opportunities there that could genuinely make my circumstances better and give me a chance to build a more independent future.
At 25, I still live with my family and don't even have a room of my own. Most decisions about my life and going outside require my parents' permission, and although I understand that comes from my family's circumstances and values, sometimes I feel very restricted and unable to move forward independently.
I don't want to run away from my family. I want to build a future where I can support myself, become financially independent, and eventually be in a position to support them too.
That's why studying abroad means so much more to me than simply earning another degree. It would give me the opportunity to grow academically, gain independence, build a career, and create a life where I can have more control over my own future.
The difficult part is being able to afford the first steps.
My father earns around PKR 60,000 per month, and I currently earn around PKR 10,000 through tutoring. We live on a limited income, and the initial costs involved in applying for international education are difficult for my family to manage.
I'm currently trying to raise PKR 40,000 toward my passport and document attestation, along with the initial expenses needed to move forward with my international-study plans.
I know asking strangers for money isn't easy. It isn't easy for me to ask either.
I'm not asking someone to pay for my entire master's degree. I'm trying to take this one step at a time, while continuing to work and applying for scholarships that can cover the major costs of studying and living abroad.
I simply need help getting past some of the upfront expenses required to reach those opportunities.
For someone else, PKR 500 or PKR 1,000 may be a small amount. For me, every contribution brings me a little closer to being able to take that first step.
