If you live in the UK, the Gulf, the US or anywhere outside Pakistan and want to help a family, a patient or a student back home, the frustrating part is not generosity — it is the rails. The platforms you already know mostly cannot pay money into Pakistan, and the ones that can pay out here work in rupees through mobile wallets you do not have abroad. This page explains the real options, honestly, including what GoFundMeNow can and cannot do for you today.
GoFundMe lists twenty countries where a fundraiser can be created, and Pakistan is not one; it also says its payment partners may not be able to process donations from Pakistan, and that it cannot send funds directly to a Pakistani beneficiary (GoFundMe: supported countries, International donations). The full explanation is in our GoFundMe-in-Pakistan guide.
The block is really the card rails. Stripe and PayPal, which sit behind most Western donation sites, do not operate in Pakistan (Stripe: global availability, Payoneer: PayPal in Pakistan), so even where you can donate, the money often cannot be paid out to the person here.
Overseas Pakistanis send home a very large share of the country’s incoming money — recorded remittances reached a record 41.6 billion dollars in the 2026 fiscal year, with the biggest flows from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the UK (Dawn: remittances hit record $41.6bn). A single relative abroad is often what closes a fundraiser that local giving alone could not.
Distance makes verification harder, so lean on the person, not the platform. Give where you know the family or someone who does, where documents and updates are posted, and where the money can go to an institution. Our guide to spotting a fake fundraiser is written for exactly this decision.
Not yet. Donations are taken through JazzCash and EasyPaisa, which need a Pakistani wallet. Until card support is switched on, the practical route is to send your contribution to a relative in Pakistan who donates on the fundraiser. We will update this page when cards go live.
To the institution, where possible. A transfer straight to the hospital or school, referencing the patient or student, is the most transparent and the hardest to misuse. Ask the organiser for the institution’s account details.
That depends on your country and amount, and it changes often, so compare a couple of licensed remittance services before you send. This guide is about reaching a fundraiser, not a recommendation of any one transfer provider.
