Updated 5 September 2026. Facts checked against the sources listed below.
Short answer: no. You cannot create a GoFundMe fundraiser from Pakistan, GoFundMe cannot pay money out to a Pakistani bank account, and its payment partners may refuse donations made from Pakistan. This page quotes GoFundMe’s own help pages so you can check every claim, explains why the usual alternatives fail at the same step, and shows what does work here.
GoFundMeNow is not affiliated with GoFundMe. We built this platform in Pakistan precisely because GoFundMe does not operate here.
GoFundMe publishes a list of countries where a fundraiser may be created. As of its update in 2026 it names exactly twenty: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Pakistan is not on it, and the page states that a fundraiser must be created in one of those countries (Countries supported on GoFundMe).
The same page spells out what happens if someone tries anyway: if a fundraiser is created by an organiser who does not meet the supported-country requirements, it is likely that all money raised will be refunded and the account removed.
Donating from Pakistan is also unreliable. GoFundMe’s international donations page says its payment processing partners may not be able to process donations from a list of countries that includes Pakistan (International donations).
Even GoFundMe’s own Pakistan flood relief page tells organisers abroad that, since GoFundMe cannot send funds directly to Pakistan, they are personally responsible for withdrawing the money and transferring it to their beneficiary (GoFundMe: Pakistan flood relief).
Many families ask a relative in the UK, the US or Canada to open the GoFundMe for them. GoFundMe allows raising funds for someone in an unsupported country, but the organiser must live and bank in a supported country and must outline a transparent plan for how the money will be transferred (Raising funds for someone in an unsupported country).
In practice that means the money lands in the relative’s foreign bank account, and they then send it to Pakistan themselves, with the remittance cost and the exchange rate on top. Donors inside Pakistan who want to give with JazzCash or EasyPaisa have no way to take part at all.
The block is not GoFundMe’s policy alone. It is the payment rails underneath most international platforms.
What Pakistani donors actually have in their pockets is a mobile wallet. GoFundMeNow takes donations through JazzCash and EasyPaisa in rupees, pays organisers out to a Pakistani bank account after an administrator reviews the withdrawal, and reviews every fundraiser before it can accept a single rupee. Card payments are not available yet, and our fee schedule is not yet published; both are explained plainly on the Help page.
If you are weighing several options, the comparison of crowdfunding platforms in Pakistan lists who can start a campaign where, how donors pay and whether money can reach a Pakistani account. If you are ready to raise, the step-by-step guide to getting donations online covers documents, story, sharing and withdrawal.
No. GoFundMe’s own Pakistan flood page says it cannot send funds directly to Pakistan and that the organiser abroad is personally responsible for withdrawing and transferring the money.
Only indirectly. The fundraiser must be created by an organiser who lives and banks in one of GoFundMe’s twenty supported countries, and that person must explain how the money will be transferred. The transfer itself is an ordinary international remittance made by the organiser.
Organisers in the twenty countries GoFundMe lists on its supported-countries page. A fundraiser created from anywhere else is likely to be refunded and the account removed, according to that page.
No. GoFundMeNow is an independent platform built in Pakistan, with no connection to GoFundMe. GoFundMe does not operate in Pakistan; we exist because of that gap.
Not by card yet. Today donations are made through JazzCash and EasyPaisa, which need a Pakistani wallet. A relative abroad can still help by sending money to a family member here who then donates, or by supporting the organiser directly. We will update this page when card payments are switched on.
You cannot create a GoFundMe fundraiser as an organiser based in Pakistan — GoFundMe requires the organiser to be in one of its twenty supported countries, and a fundraiser created from elsewhere is likely to be refunded and the account removed. To raise money for a cause in Pakistan, either start a fundraiser here on GoFundMeNow (in rupees, through JazzCash and EasyPaisa) or ask a relative living and banking in a supported country to run the GoFundMe on your behalf.
You cannot withdraw GoFundMe funds to a Pakistani bank account — GoFundMe’s own pages say it cannot send funds directly to Pakistan, so any money raised has to be withdrawn by an organiser abroad and then transferred here as an ordinary remittance. On GoFundMeNow, organisers withdraw in rupees to a Pakistani bank account after an administrator reviews the request.
